13.Do not waste Food

Little Kumar and his dad went to the bazaar to get veggies and groceries for the home. They also came back with a bag full of rice. As soon as they came home, Kumar's mom emptied the bag of rice in the rice box she keeps in the pantry. When she did that, she dropped a few rice grains on the ground by mistake.

When mom went to put the rest of the groceries aside, Kumar thought he should help his mom in cleaning up the floor. He took a mop and tried to clean up the rice grains from the floor. When he got ready to throw the grains in the trash, Mom stopped him.She said, "Kumar, dear, you should not waste the grains". Kumar asked " Why not mom? We have a big box full of rice, why shouldn't i throw the handful of grains in the trash?"

Kumar's mom explained, " God gives us rice grains to cook and relish. Every grain has to be eaten by some one. When a grain is taken out of its husk, it has to be consumed by a hungry soul"

Kumar asked " OK, but this is just a handful off the floor? Whose hunger is this handful going to satisfy?"

Mom said, watch.. and placed the rice in one corner of the terrace above. With in 2 minutes, birds started flying towards Kumar's home. They ate ever piece of the grain.

Kumar was astonished to see the entire grains being eaten. He was very happy. He understood that he should never waste food ever. From that day onwards, Kumar never wasted any food.

Moral - Every morsel of food is important. Never waste food.
